Several studies have shown that coverage of science and environmental issues in the Southeast Asian media is limited, with journalists working in Southeast Asia facing a number of challenges. A genuine obstacle to addressing these issues is the absence of training in how to report on science.
Watch how we brought together journalists and scientists to provide a hands-on understanding of key forestry and development issues to better equip those who report on science, environmental and policy issues. CIFOR and SciDev.Net held the residential workshop ‘Reporting on Forests in Southeast Asia’, from 30 April to 6 May 2014.
