In October 2015, scientists from CIFOR and Indonesian and international universities traveled to the peat and forest fires in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, where they used specialized equipment to measure the physical impact of the fires and the smoke. What they found shocked them – but the data they gather can be used for understanding the extent of the problem, and for supporting efforts to find solutions.
