The 2018 Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit (APRS) will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The Summit provides the opportunity for countries across the region to showcase their work on forest conservation and demonstrate their progress on implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement.
The 2018 Summit will build on the success of the 2016 APRS held in Brunei Darussalam and the 2014 Summit held in Sydney, Australia.
This international Summit is a forum for Asia-Pacific leaders, civil society, researchers, private companies, NGOs and the media to broaden collaboration networks, strengthen partnerships and develop synergies.
The Summit is part of the Asia-Pacific Rainforest Partnership (APRP). The Partnership supports the implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and encourages the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in the region. The Partnership brings together countries across the Pacific Islands, South-East Asia and Australia.
